Certain products can make recovery smoother and help you regain comfort and function. Below are examples commonly used after hand or wrist procedures – they are suggestions, not prescriptions.

Wound and Scar Care

  • Unperfumed moisturisers (e.g. E45 Cream, Vaseline, Bio-Oil): used for gentle scar massage and softening of dry skin.
  • Silicone gels or sheets (e.g. Kelo-cote, ScarAway): applied to healed wounds to flatten and soften scars.
  • Sun protection (SPF 30 or higher): prevents scar pigmentation during the first 6 months.

Supports and Splints

  • Soft wrist supports for mild sprains or overuse (ensure not worn constantly).
  • Night resting splints for carpal tunnel or after surgery (as directed).

Everyday Aids

  • Ergonomic pens or jar openers to reduce strain during early recovery.
  • Compression gloves (light support) for swelling control (if advised).

Summary:
The right products can improve comfort and healing, but always check before purchasing anything for prolonged use.

If you’re experiencing hand and wrist or related symptoms, we can confirm the cause and tailor a plan – often starting with splints/hand therapy and exercises, with medicines, injections or surgery only where appropriate.
