Sports & Gym Supports

Some patients ask about supports for returning to the gym or sport after injury, or for reducing discomfort during selected activities. Wrist wraps, thumb supports and padded gloves are examples of products sometimes used in this setting.

These products should be framed as supportive measures rather than substitutes for diagnosis, technique or rehabilitation. They may be helpful in selected circumstances, but persistent pain during sport or training should not simply be masked.

When to seek medical advice
If training repeatedly provokes pain, swelling or instability, it is better to seek assessment than to rely on supports alone.
